HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PHOTO SESSION WITH ME?

Here are already some tips and tricks. Following these guidelines will help you feel healthy, confident, and gorgeous.

LIPS
Gently brushing your lips with a toothbrush with soft bristles increases the blood flow and removes flakiness, making the skin appear smoother and healthier. When you are done, apply a good moisturizer.

EXFOLIATE
Gently exfoliating your skin helps your skin breathe and makes for a smoother appearance. Exfoliating one or two times a week leading up to your photo session is ideal.

MOISTURIZE
Moisturizing your skin helps give it a nice glow and a smoother look, especially after exfoliating when the nourishment can really penetrate your skin. Ideally, moisturize twice daily the week leading up to your session.

BODY HAIR
It is totally up to you how you are treating your body hair. Maybe you want it all removed, or you want to rock a muff or hairy legs. This includes eyebrows, armpit hair, pubes, leg, and arm hair. It can all stay or go. Whatever you decide.

If you would like to wax, please do it ahead of time. You know your body best to know how many days in advance you have to do it to avoid redness on the day of your session. Do not start waxing in the weeks leading up to your session to prevent an unexpected outcome. If you usually shave, please make sure you do it ahead of time, so there are no red bumps, but not too far ahead, so there’s no stubble

HAIR
If you color your hair, please do it several days before the session, so the roots are fresh unless grown out roots are part of your look, of course. Use a deep conditioner the night before the session to nourish your hair and to give it a nice shine.

EYELASHES
Don’t get lash extensions just before your session, especially if you do not usually have them. If you are interested in getting them, get them well in advance to see whether you like them and to get your eyes used to them. Let me know if you would like temporary ones done by the makeup artist (if you have opted for professional makeup).

SUN
Use plenty of sunscreen or avoid the sun (including tanning) to minimize the risk of sunburns and unwanted tan lines in the weeks leading up to your session.

DO NOT SPRAY TAN
Do not use spray tan on your body or face within a week before the session. It might rub on furniture and leave your skin blotchy. If you use spray tan regularly, please ensure it’s well done and doesn’t come off. If you usually don’t use spray tan, please don’t think you need it just for your photos.

SLEEP
Get enough sleep before your session. It calms your nerves and gives you an overall glow. Enough sleep is always important.

SELF-TALK
Where the mind goes, energy flows. Building up confidence starts with self-talk. We are primed to give ourselves a hard time rather than treating ourselves gently. Most of us love the concept of body positivity, but it is hard sometimes to put it into action. Start talking to yourself lovingly as if you were your own best friend.
