MICHI'S BOUDOIR EXPERIENCE
Working with Michi (39, Artist, Mother of 5 Kids, Cancer Survivor) was a blast. This is about her story, her experience working with me, and her photographs.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR OVERALL BOUDOIR EXPERIENCE WITH DIANA?
Diana is a magician with her camera. I cannot believe how comfortable I felt during the shoot. I believe all of the conversations leading up to the day of the photo shoot really helped my comfort level as well as going through all of the outfits together when I first got there to warm me up. I didn’t feel rushed or awkward. She has a way of doing that. I was on edge thinking about the finished product because of my life long body issues and negative self-talk.

My body is nowhere where I want it to be, but I wanted to document the emotional space I’m in lately. I wanted to see myself through her lens considering her successful history in the fashion industry. I ordered an album, and I’m blown away. All the steps leading up to the shoot prepared me mentally and we discussed in detail both our visions of what we want to see and feel through her images. I did this for me. That sounds cliche but I really did. For my own album I can look at one day and say “daaaym! That was me” and she’ll capture “you”, hence the name of her body of work. “You by Diana” so do it for you.
I want everyone to do this! I also really enjoyed how she fit in my quirky personality with funny props that I brought but also wouldn’t let me talk myself out of being sexy in photos.
PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF
I’m a mother of 5! Three from my body and two from another mama. 20, 20, 18, 7, and 5yrs old. I’m an artist and previously owned a business for 9yrs. I’m a cancer survivor. I struggle with weight and body image. I have lose skin, scars (from my hysterectomy and cancer), stretch marks from kiddos. Diana poses you in a perfect way to highlight your favorite features and makes what you think as imperfections as beautiful.
